A long time ago... he was like you.

Post your theories about the Matrix movies and the proof you've found to support them.

Gotta say ya got me stumped there mate.

I'm pretty damn sure the merv knows all about the cycle, the oracle's involvement (remember our discussion on a possible reason for resentment here), the whole shindig.

But aye, he does certainly seem to want to upset the cycle now doesn't he? What with his wanting to kill the oracle (integral to the awakening of the one afterall) and his imprisonment and showdowns with neo.

Perhaps he had his own plans for facilitating the needs of the one? That he wished to bribe the machines with for more power?

Ironically he if was wanting to mess up the cycle then his end goal wasn't too much different than the oracles, same objective, different paths, heh.

This is unlikely, but what if he wants to force the Machines to use the old version of the Matrix--the "hell" version--where he might very well have been dominant? It would be stupid, since it didn't work, but if he's so power hungry that he's blind to that, then perhaps he's trying to cause the Oracle's version of the Matrix to fail so that they have to resort to HIS version. And if the Decius Wadsworth story is at all correct, then the Merovingian may very well have played a part in designing the old Matrices, in which case he probably prefers them over the Oracle's. Perhaps over time we will learn the truth.
